Biosketch

Christiane Lex is Head of Paediatric Pneumology and Allergology at the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG), Germany. She previously led the Allergy Center South of Lower Saxony. She completed her medical studies in Bonn, Strasbourg, and Pittsburgh and obtained her M.D. from Friedrich Wilhelm University Bonn. She received her paediatric training at the Children’s University Hospital Düsseldorf and completed a long-term research fellowship of the European Respiratory Society at the National Heart and Lung Institute in London, UK. She leads a clinical research group focusing on noninvasive airway inflammation, paediatric lung function, smart technologies, as well as food allergy and asthma, initiates European clinical asthma studies, and serves as Principal Investigator in multiple international clinical drug trials. She is a board member of the German Society for Paediatric Pneumology (GPP) and the German Society of Paediatric Allergology (GPA), and serves as Vice Chair of NAPPA e.V. and the German Lung Day (Deutscher Lungentag e.V.).
