Eva Hummers is tenured Professor of General Practice/Family Medicine and Head of the Institute of General Practice at Göttingen University Medical Center, after holding the same position at Hannover Medical School from 2005-2012. For a small part time, she also works as general practitioner in a semi-rural community. Eva Hummers attended medical school and did her specialist training in general practice/family medicine in Germany and France. Her work focusses on building up research capacity and infrastructure in primary care, with particular regard to clinical trials, interprofessional care and health services research, and opportunities of e-health (use of electronic patient records for research, use of e-health tools in practice. She is currently Vice-President of the German College of General Practitioners, DEGAM, and Honorary Secretary of the European Society of General Practice, WONCA Europe, and a past president of the European General Practice Research Network, EGPRN. She has been an elected member of the Review Board of the German Research Foundation (DFG-Fachkollegiatin) from 2012-2020, representing the field of public health, health services research, social medicine, and still is a member of the DFG review panel for clinical trials, and member of the Permanent Senate Commission on Key Questions in Clinical Research. She also is a member of Germany’s Standing Committee on Vaccination at the Robert –Koch-Institute.

Wir sind Ärztinnen und Wissenschaftlerinnen aus allen Fachbereichen der Medizin an der Universitätsmedizin Göttingen und aus Instituten am Göttingen Campus. Unser Ziel ist verbesserte Sichtbarkeit, Chancengleichheit und Teilhabe von Frauen an der Hochschulmedizin.
