Biosketch

As a clinician Frauke Alves developed a thorough bench to bedside approach in the cancer field and in the area of fibrosis by working as senior scientific group leader at the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) as well at the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences (MPI-NAT)-City Campus, Göttingen, focusing on mechanisms of tumor progression, chemoresistance, inflammation and tissue remodeling. The principal fields of expertise of her inter-disciplinary group are the development, optimization and preclinical evaluation of novel therapeutic concepts as well as of diagnostic procedures for oncology, inflammation and fibrosis by means of optical and x-ray based non-invasive and high resolution imaging approaches in combination with novel molecular or nanoparticle (NP) based probes. She is past president of the European Molecular Imaging Society (ESMI), Associated Investigator in the Exzellenzcluster Multiscale Bioimaging (MBExC) and shareholder of the start-up “NanoDrug Delivery GmbH” working on innovative, high-load drug delivery systems.
