PD Dr. rer. nat. Yvonne Bouter is a group leader in the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG), Germany. She studied Biotechnology at TU Braunschweig, University College Cork (Ireland), and Yale University (USA). She obtained her PhD in Molecular Medicine from the University of Göttingen, focusing on the role of amyloid-beta 4-42 in the etiology of Alzheimer's disease. She habilitated in the field of Molecular Neuroscience. Her current research focuses on the endocannabinoid system as a target for novel therapeutic approaches in Alzheimer's disease, as well as the influence of cannabinoids on the healthy organism. Additionally, she has a strong interest in molecular imaging and the application of (new) PET tracers for neurodegenerative diseases.
